Caught Red Handed (The Caught Series Book 6) Page 11
Dante nodded in agreement with me. “Well, you did. You did the right thing where Homan is concerned, but as much of a threat as he was to you and your family, the bigger threat is her leaving.”
“That’s right, but I feel like it’s more than that.”
“You’re both hard to love and yet she and I can’t help it. I’ll go talk to her.” Reagan placed her hand on my shoulder, patting it, then sticking her hand out. “Key card, please. I’d hate to have her not let me in.”
I handed it to her, grateful for any assistance. She’s been married to Dante for six years and they were happy, so she knew how to deal with the life Dante led.
“Sit down, Tony. Let’s have a drink.”
Chapter 34
Alana
I heard the door open and I thought Tony was back. A part of me was thrilled that he came back and another part was ready to start screaming, but when I walked to the door, it wasn’t him. It was Reagan.
“What’s up?” I asked, wondering what she was going to say.
“I came to talk to you.” She was perfect looking, I bet her husband didn’t leave her to wake up alone all the time.
“Did he tell you to come up here?”
“No, I offered. I know that we don’t know each other, but our family is close and I know that you mean so much to Tony, but he doesn’t know how to stop being the man who answers to no one.”
I didn’t respond to it because I suppose she had a point. “And that’s why I’m trying to save us the trouble that would come later.”
“So, you’re telling me that you’d rather watch Tony move on with his life and find someone else who would be in your place? Watching your baby when it’s Tony’s turn to have the child?”
“No,” I yelled, then took off running. I made it to the bathroom just in time. I lost the bit of juice I had before she came into the suite.
“Are you okay?” she asked, handing me a damp washcloth.
“Being with or without Tony will never be okay.”
She chuckled. “I totally get you. I married a very similar man. It took some time, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Just think about it, soon he’ll be home every night once the club is sold and the papers are processed.”
“What do you mean?” I asked. I hadn’t heard anything about the club.
She clapped her hands to her mouth. “Oh poo. He didn’t tell you yet. I freaking forgot.”
“It seems I’m the last to know everything.”
“It’s not like that. It was supposed to be a surprise. According to what Dante told me, Tony didn’t like leaving you to go to the club at night. He didn’t want to live a life of you two seeing each other in passing, so he was planning to put it up for sale and an offer popped up in his lap. He loves you,” she said. This was all news to me and wonderful news, but it was a punch in the gut that everyone else knew before me. This may have been a surprise, but with everything else, I’m the last to know.
“Reagan, I don’t know. It’s just he doesn’t tell me anything. I feel like I’m just his plaything.”
“Alana. Tell me. Do you want to know his business? Do you really want to know if he has to kill someone or break someone’s legs? And as his partner in life, can you keep his secrets? Also, like Dante, Tony doesn’t want you tainted or in danger because of him. It was crazy when Dante and I got together and there was danger everywhere I turned. Last night I was left alone, guarded to the teeth, but all I could think about was Dante not making it back. They love us and our safety is automatic to them.”
“I know, but I don’t know how to get over the fear that he’s going to leave me.”
“I heard about your rocky start. He loved you since he first saw you. That’s something wonderful. You can’t fault him for what happened that night. You had a week to tell him the truth and he had to find it out from someone else.”
“I know, but…I really have no excuse other than I’m too afraid of losing him.”
“Let me get this right…you think leaving him is the smartest thing to do?”
“No,” I muttered. My heart was scared of the pain he could cause me. My father’s death followed by my mother’s neglect, drug abuse, and subsequent death tore my heart to pieces and yet I felt that Tony could do much worse. “I know I need to have faith in us, but it’s so hard.”
“Nothing’s easy when you love a hardheaded bad guy.”
“Thank you, Reagan.”
“Anytime. Trust me, it’ll get easier.” I gave her a hug and let her go.
“I need to see Tony.”
“Go get your man, Alana,” she championed. I got up and walked straight out of the door into a wall, but it wasn’t Tony. “Who are you?”
“Your husband didn’t learn at all. There’s too many of us ready to take him on. You’re a bonus. Ah and we have another little wife here. Double the fun.”
“Get the fuck away from here.” I pinched his nuts between my fingers, digging my sharp nails into his sack. A sudden vasectomy. He wasn’t ready for that. Reagan was on the phone to Dante. And the room was swarmed with their men. I walked away from the bastard as they had him trussed up by the throat.
Seconds later, Dante and Tony barged through. Tony pulled a gun out of his waistband. “Get her out of here,” Tony roared. Dante and Vinny grabbed both of us women and took us from the room. I didn’t fight or even look. I saw the pain in Tony’s eyes which told me that he was upset that he’d missed this guy.
Chapter 35
Tony
As soon as we got Tito tied up, we cut the surveillance to the hotel for five minutes. Out through the back alleys, we took him away. I ran upstairs, got my woman, and checked out of the hotel twenty minutes later. All arguments and threats of leaving were missing when she jumped into my arms, kissing me like she hadn’t seen me in forever. I worshipped the moment, but we had to get home because there was more to deal with. Alana and I had a lot to work on, but I got a smile and wink from Reagan as they waved goodbye. They were flying back home to be with their kids and promised to visit later.
I’d been so distracted by my fight with Alana that I missed the message that Tito had been contracted to kill me and her. Dante and I were almost at the door when Reagan called. We had a plan for him and our extra passenger in cargo.
As soon as we landed, I called the lawyer about the closing for tomorrow. “Hello, may I speak with Mr. Blake or Caleb James, please?”
“May I ask who’s calling?”
“It’s Anthony Franchetti for the closing tomorrow.”
“Yes, sir. Hold one moment.”
“Hello, Tony, this is Caleb. The meeting is scheduled for noon tomorrow.”
“I need to meet with Mr. Blake a little earlier.” I gave him the vague details. I knew the message would get passed along. He thanked me and we hung up.
We pulled up to the house and I took Alana to my office. “Please sit, baby.”
“What’s going on? What’s that call about?” she asked.
“You know the guy who I went looking for in Vegas, well someone else wants to have words with him before I deal with him. I know you want to know more and I will do my best to tell you, but this is important. I’ll be gone tomorrow morning before you wake up. I love you, and soon, I’ll never have to leave our bed before you wake unless I tell you.”
“I understand, Tony. Do what you have to do. I want this over with. When are you going to off Simms? I want his head on a fucking platter.”
“Whoa. Where’s Alana and who the hell is in her place?”
“After what happened today, I’m ready to go to war. That was insane, but I won’t let anyone threaten me or my family.” I stared at my wife who was suddenly ready to bust heads.
“Sweetheart, leave that to me. We’ll have this all wrapped up by tomorrow night.” I gave her a kiss that led to much more. It would all be good after that.
Epilogue
Three Months Later
Tony
I watched
on the news as Simms’s body was carried out from the County Jail. He’d been killed after meeting some of the people he’d done wrong. They had finally pressed charges against him after that tape Vinny and I made, coupled with some more evidence that had been misfiled in Detective Torre’s murder investigation. Simms was a gloating son of a bitch, but that’s what got to him. He thought that I’d go down without a noise, but I shook up the whole damn thing. After sneaking into his house, we found the gun he used to kill Alana’s father. The fool kept it as a souvenir of sorts, a fucking trophy.
I kept that bit from Alana because she didn’t need to get anymore riled up. Our baby was starting to make its presence known with her growing belly and constant vomiting. She didn’t need the added stress or the vindictive streak I saw worming its way into her soul. I couldn’t have that. She’d find out more details that will more than likely be leaked to the press, but I’d deal with it when the time came.
“He’s out of your life for good, Alana,” I whispered, holding her in my arms.
“They tortured him in there, didn’t they?”
“Yes, but that happens a lot to crooked cops. With the death of your father on his hands, the officials at the prison refused solitary for him.”
“That’s good to know,” she said, her voice muffled with her face on my chest. “I’m hungry.”
“Okay, what will it be, my sweet Alana?” I asked, pulling her toward the kitchen.
“I don’t know,” she huffed. It was one of those days; I understood.
“Okay, one serving of I don’t know coming up,” I teased. She smacked my arm then gave me the finger.
“Oh, so fucking is what’s on the menu? I could definitely have some of that.”
I picked her up with my hands, gripping her ass and planting her onto the kitchen table. Since fall was here, she had on some skin-tight jeans and a light sweater, which I lifted off and tossed to the side. Her tits were sensitive and hard right now. They were massive before, but they felt even bigger in my hands. I yanked down the cups of her bra and latched onto one of her pert nipples. Her back arched and she gave me a deep, raspy yes. My hands toyed with the jeans getting them down her hips after she raised them off the table. They met the floor with gusto, but I was keeping my clothes on because I couldn’t wait. With her hands bracing herself on the table, I unleashed my cock and slammed into her pussy. She grunted as I stretched her out. Her legs hooked around my waist, holding on as I thrust with a steady beat.
“Sorry, baby. This is going to be fast.”
“Please, faster, Tony, I’m going to come,” she cried out, her hands moving to my arms, her fingers clutching my biceps. I growled, then kissed her hard, letting her feel every ounce of lust she caused. Our kiss was fierce and dirty. She sucked my tongue like it was my dick, making my cock pulse inside her.
“Keep that shit up and I’m going to want to come in your mouth.”
She pulled her mouth away to take a breath and to scream as her orgasm shot through her body. I pumped into her, holding off until she was done coming. As soon as she finished she shoved me back and dropped to her knees. Not caring one fucking bit, she took my cock down her throat, tasting herself on my length. Her hand went to my balls, caressing them while her mouth made love to my shaft. My dick jerked as my sack tightened for release. I grabbed her head, holding in place as I stroked out my cum into her mouth. “Alana,” I roared. “Fucking, yes. Take it all, baby.” She didn’t waste a drop. I lifted her back onto the table and kissed her, tasting a hint of both of us.
“Mm, satisfying, but I’m still hungry,” she whispered against my ear. “And not for food.”
“Yes, but I need a minute to catch my breath and you need your strength. Let me make us something.” I started to cook, managing to burn my finger. “Damn Filomena for getting married to Vinny.”
“I’ve got this. Go run it under cold water. No ice.”
“Yes, ma’am.” I knew what to do, but I liked that she was eager to take care of me. Things between us improved every day. There were no more secrets and we spent much of our time outside now that the threats were gone. Homan met his end at my hands, but I had ways of getting away with it.
And funny enough, Tito committed “suicide.” It was interesting that just days after we left Vegas, he was found in his apartment with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The mayor was charged with Homan’s wife in the underage prostitution ring, but he took his life, too.
Eric, my former manager, died of a drug overdose. It seemed that in an attempt to ruin the club, Tito started giving Eric drugs on the house. What started off as a harmless high for Eric turned into a serious addiction. It was sad because he had so much promise, but that was why I had kept the club drug free. They stole away common motherfucking sense.
Things were looking up for our little family and I hoped to keep it that way.
Two years later…
Alana
“Reagan, this man is insane,” I complained, looking at my husband trying to get our son to say his name. It was a feat that was driving him crazy. Little Anthony was fifteen months old and had a fair number of words. Some of them were clear and others you had to take a good guess. Tony had never heard him say daddy. It would always be Tony. I’ve heard him say it, but it was whenever Tony wasn’t around. I laughed at him because he was getting annoyed.
“This is too funny to watch. I think your boy takes after you. Purposefully driving Tony to madness and constantly defying him.”
“That’s what Tony says all the time. Hey, it’s only fair because he’s Tony’s freaking replica. If he didn’t have my attitude or I didn’t see him force his way out my cooter, I wouldn’t believe he was mine.”
“He won’t say it,” Tony grumbled.
“Mama, mama, mama,” he cooed, trying to jump into my arms, but Tony held him off because I was about to pop with our next baby.
“Say daddy,” he ordered his son.
“Mama.” He reached out for me even more. Tony pouted and I felt a tiny bit bad for him.
“It’s time for his nap,” I said. “Sorry, Reagan, but I think I need one, too.”
“That’s fine. The sun is brutal out here. You take a nap and I’ll join Dante and the kids in the pool.”
“Great.” I gave her a hug, then Tony grabbed my hand and walked with me to Anthony’s bedroom. We set him down with his droopy eyes. He was handsome just like his father and it made my heart full. I brushed his long black hair off his face and kissed his cheek.
Tony gave him a kiss, too. “I love you, little man.”
“Lub, dada,” he whispered sleepily. Tony’s eyes widened and a grin a mile wide spread across his face. I took his hand and led him out of the room before he started shouting with joy.
I stopped in our bedroom quickly, forcing him to stop after bumping me from behind. A moan escaped my lips. My fatigue was a thing of the past when I felt him slide his hands around my waist. “I think you did that on purpose,” he whispered in my ear.
“Now, how about you tuck me in, daddy?” I said, turning my head slightly to give him a wink.
“With pleasure,” he growled, grinding his hips on my ass. I had a really long nap. Well, only an hour nap, the rest of the time, I was getting worn out.
When I woke up, my love was still there with me, holding me tight. “You’re still here.”
“I promised I wouldn’t let you wake up alone. Our guests know better. Whenever you’re ready, we’ll go join them.”
“Not yet, I need more sleep.” I said, climbing onto him and sliding down his hard cock.
“Damn, I missed out on a lot of wake-up calls.” He swatted my ass and let me ride until we came.
“Now, let’s go join them.” I giggled. We freshened up before joining Dante, Reagan, and their kids. They shook their heads and asked if we could keep an eye on their little family. Reagan was feeling a little lightheaded. They didn’t come back for an hour and suddenly Reagan was full of color. These men are someth
ing else, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Ten Years Later…
Tony
“Alana, I need a hand in here please.” I was in the middle of getting ready for work when our youngest decided to greet me with a smelly ass. Alana had the day off from the bakery that we opened, but I had to be there to meet with some of the suppliers. My sweet little Arabella wasn’t so fresh at the moment.
“I’m here.” She came into the room and froze. “Oh shit. Wow, Bella, messing daddy’s suit up isn’t nice,” she said with a giggle.
“Yes, it’s not nice. I need to get this off of me. I’ll run her a bath, can you get everything together for me to wear?”
“Yes, love.” I carried the smelly, messy baby into our bathroom and got her into the tub with her toys while I took off my shirt and pants. Damn, I was going to be late, but they could wait. My family was my priority and would always be. I leaned over the tub and scrubbed her body, it seemed that I was the one with the mess. She was only six months, but I wondered if potty training was a possibility. My sweet little thing giggled at me, sounding like an angel, that I couldn’t even be annoyed with the bad start to my day. We played for five minutes while Alana picked up the messy clothes and worked her magic. Thirty minutes later, both Arabella and I were cleaned up and I was kissing my girls goodbye.
We had had four kids in the past decade. The first two came right after each other, but then there was a good gap. After Tony was my son Vincent and then little Lana came three years later. This one came as a surprise because she was on birth control, but we love her to pieces. We weren’t done with kids yet, but we weren’t actively trying to get pregnant.
When Tony was two, we opened up a bakery, and it was a labor of love. Long hours made it a success, and now we have ten employees working for us. It gave us the extra revenue we wanted and something to give the kids that wasn’t mixed with my old life. I was still loaning money with high interest, but killing people wasn’t something I had done in a long time. Spending time in prison, a lifetime away from my family wasn’t in my plans for the future. We hadn’t had problems since the first six months of our life together. Even with the occasional shit clean up, I was a lucky man. I don’t know what I did to deserve this life, but I was forever grateful.
