Through the break between contractions, I put it together that Domani put a plan in place for when I went into labor. He’s never done it with the boys before.

  “What’s with the code PINK?” I growl out through the next contraction.

  “My little princess is coming. I wanted to make sure we were prepared for her.”

  “So then there’s an ivory tower ready?”

  “Not yet. She’s not going to leave the house until she’s at least six and my crew can construct it in less than six months.” I’d laugh, but I’m not sure he’s joking. From the look on his face, I don’t believe he is. I laugh anyway because he’s insane and knowing my past, I might be on board with the plan when the time comes.

  “At least we’ll let her know why she’s locked in her gilded cage.”

  “I’m glad you see things my way.” He winks at me and then kisses my temple. “I was only kidding, my queen. I can’t say I won’t be protective of her, but I’ll just make sure she has more security than the President of the United States.”
