  “So Elizabeth tell me, does my brother have his lackey’s with him the whole time?” I didn’t want these guys around for long. This feeling I was getting was nothing I have experienced before and it wasn’t good. He was a ‘nobody’ who would only see me as Jackson’s little sister with money to her name. My stupid heart was doing a funny dance and I hoped it was just from nerves, nothing more. Who the hell was I kidding, my pussy doesn’t start dripping because I’m nervous.

  “Oh, they are both nice and are just here for a short time until the trouble passes.”

  “Well they look like big mean killing machines.”

  “Yes, but the guys have been great to me. They are always very helpful and kind.”

  “I doubt that. They look rude especially the one who took forever to get out of the car. Aren’t they supposed to get out before you do for your protection?” I was being bitchy, and I could tell that she was starting to feel uncomfortable.

  “Mike is never rude. It was strange for him to stay in the car a moment before getting out, but I’m sure he had a reason. He has been so sweet to me. He helped out both Jackson and I when we had a fight. It is the other one, Milo that is a little bit scary, he’s good to me, but I get the feeling that he’s not the kind of guy to joke with.”

  “Good to know.” I said. I was not sure about the Milo guy, his face seemed kind. It was the other one who gave me this confusing feeling that I didn’t care for.

  “What are you talking to my wife about, Zoey?” Jackson walked up to us and slid his hands around Elizabeth’s waist. It was actually really sweet to see.

  “Your big scary shadows.” I replied with irritation in my voice.

  “Oh they are harmless to you two.” Did he think I was worried that they would do something to me?

  “Yeah, well I don’t want them to ruin my party.” I added vehemently.

  “Don’t worry, brat, they won’t. So how many boys are going to be here trying to hit on my baby sister?” he asked, with his chin resting on Elizabeth’s head.

  “Lots, but I’m only interested in one of them. I’ll leave the rest to flirt with your wife.” I earned a deadly glare.

  “No little shit better come near my wife.” he growled. I was only joking, but my brother was deadly serious.

  “Jackson relax, I have you. Why would I look for anyone else?” Elizabeth said as she played with Jackson’s hands that rested on her belly. I wondered if there was another reason for a fast wedding, but then again my mother already asked that question dead on.

  “I know, but I don’t want anyone trying anyway.” Jackson stole a kiss from Elizabeth as the big Milo walked into the room. This man was huge. I mean he had to be at least six two and chock full of muscles. He was a good looking guy, but this is the one Elizabeth said to be wary of.

  Then in came the dreamy nightmare who threw me for a loop without a word. I guess that is why the bitch in me decided to make an appearance. As I was being rude, I caught the jealousy in my tone and was grateful no one else had. What did I have to be jealous about? I had Rick who I was getting to know and who was attractive. When Mike told me that he preferred women who were sophisticated I thought I was going to cry because I wasn’t that experienced.

  When he left the kitchen I felt like a total bitch. I had been mean just because I didn’t like that I had been attracted to him. It wasn’t his fault I was pathetic.

  My brother turned on me first, “What the fuck was that Zoey? Mike is a good guy and you were a total witch!”

  “Sorry, I didn’t mean to get so bitchy, but then he returned the attitude. I’ll try to be nice to them.”

  “Good, sweetheart because I would hate to be on those two’s bad side.” my father said, while making a frightened face. My mom just giggled and shook her head at him.

  They all bailed on me and left me in the kitchen alone. My thoughts being my only wasn’t a very good idea; they were all about gorilla boy and those strong hands that he balled up in anger at me. I walked out of the kitchen and looked out the front door to see him talking to the newest security team member and she happened to be a cute little red headed broad. She was touching his arm, yeah it sounded like he was working all right. It looked like he was working on his game. He was smiling down at her, but glared at me, asshole.

  I made excuse to get out of dinner early saying I had some calls to make for tomorrow. Truthfully I couldn’t get him out of my head, and I wasn’t fit for company. I did call Rick and we had a long sweet call. When I hung up with him, all I could think about was that my heart wasn’t pounding and I had no gushy ache between my thighs for him.

  The next day I had to see Mike, and he had to be all up in my mom’s and my conversation.

  “Mom is everything ready?” I asked nervously, as I walked into the kitchen.

  “Yes dear, you know it is.” my mom Claire said, as she rolled her eyes at me.

  “I know I’m just nervous.” It was my party tonight and Rick was supposed to be coming. I wanted to ramp up our relationship. I was hoping that once he got here I could shake the lust for gorilla.

  “Why? Sweetie we always throw excellent parties. I know that you aren’t particularly comfortable with our set, but these are your friends that are coming. Is it because there is someone special coming tonight?” She was looking at me suggestively, but I guess my sudden interest in my party was obvious. Normally, I didn’t care for the stuck up wealthy brats that were coming, but I had a good feeling about this birthday despite the lackey that ruined my beauty sleep by invading my dreams all night. It was the last party I would have here before I left to NYU and I wanted it to be a success.

  “Yes there is.” I guiltily replied.

  “Yeah, who is he?” mom asked.

  “His name is Rick. I told you about him, but I haven’t introduced you to him yet. He is really a good guy, and the topper is, he is so hot!” I blushed realizing that I even though I was talking about Rick, Mike’s face appeared in my mind. The kitchen opened just as I finished my sentence and I heard my brother’s puppet growl behind me.

  “Sorry gorilla man, do you disapprove or is that grunt your way of saying hello?” I gave him the dirtiest look I could. I didn’t need his approval, and I didn’t care for his disapproval. It was because of him I would have to wear extra concealer.

  “Miss Blake, its Mike, and I don’t disapprove. I don’t really care that you take interest in a boy who will just treat you like a number.” Who the hell did he think he was?

  “You don’t even know him.” I huffed out sounding super childish; great way to go. I turn eighteen and this ass brings out the bratty childish attitude.

  “I was once a teenager who was considered hot.” He looked at me like he was a god as he said that.

  “Once is the operative word.” I grouched at him, letting him know that I didn’t think he was as hot as thought he was. I was lying, but this ass didn’t need to know that he had me squirming with a look.

  “Mike come on. We have a call with Duke in a few minutes.” Milo said, as he tried to pull his brother out of this battle of the wits. He was obviously aware his brother was outnumbered.

  “Yeah you are right. Mrs. Blake, we were wondering if you could make us some coffee.” he asked my mother. Normally I wouldn’t have been annoyed or offended, but something about him just aggravated me.

  “Absolutely boys.” my mom said sweetly.

  “What you can’t do it yourself?” I asked, trying to push Mike’s buttons and it was working.

  “This is not our house and it is rude to go rummaging through other people’s things or do you think you own everything little princess?” He walked up close to me; I could feel my heart race as though I was biting off more than I could chew. I needed to get out of the room fast before he could tell that my heart was pounding like I ran a marathon.

  “I don’t think that, you ass. Whatever I have stuff to do!” I sneered, as left the room to meet with Elizabeth and get ready for the party.

  Chapter 2

  Mike

  Once we were left alone in the kitchen, Milo peeked out make sure no one was around before asking me in his fucked up way, “Are you fucking crazy?”

  “What the fuck do you mean?” I looked at my brother like he was crazy, but I had a feeling I knew what this was about.

  “You are into the little Miss Blake. Don’t fucking lie because you are acting like Jackson was when he met Elizabeth. Zoey is a kid and a spoiled little girl, the kind of woman you wouldn’t have given a second thought to fucking before. I think you need to find one of these bitches at the party tonight, more age appropriate and take her out back for a quick fuck. You have a job to do and it is not to fuck Jackson’s sister. Here.” Milo said, as he opened his wallet and handed me a condom.

  “It’s been a long time. You are right, getting laid will clear my head.” I took the condom just as Zoey walked back in the room witnessing the handoff. Fuck me this was a bit awkward.

  “Ooh, do you have any more of them Milo? I may need one tonight as well.” she said, acting like it was a natural conversation to have with someone you just met. I didn’t want to know why she was so comfortable with that shit, and I sure as hell wasn’t going to let him give her any, anyway.

  “You won’t be needing one tonight.” I said in a low growl. I have been fighting the urge to fuck her since I laid eyes on the tiny brunette with sultry eyes and a body that screamed sex kitten. She was something else, very pretty, bubbly and biting all in one. I had an instant reaction to her presence, and it was a big no-no. Rule number one was to never mix business with pleasure. If you do, you are bound to fuck up, and in our line of work a fuck up could be fatal. Jackson happened to be our friend and that is why we were helping him out with Elizabeth’s personal safety in the first place. I needed to remember that she, as Jackson’s sister, was off the market.

  “You are right, the pill should be enough.” she said, as she grabbed a bottle of water and walked out of the room.

  The rage coursing through my body was visible to my brother. “Bro calm down, the girl just likes pushing your buttons. I don’t think she really is going to fuck the guy.”

  “I’m going to snap the motherfucker’s neck, I swear.” I roared. I was six four and two fifty. I would crush anyone she tried to hook up with tonight. If I wasn’t fucking her I didn’t want anyone else taking my spot. If I had to stay away from her, so would every other little bitch that was invited.

  Milo shook his head at me. “There are other women. Unless you are planning to hear wedding bells like Jackson you better walk away.” he said.

  “I know, I know. She is twelve years younger than me and Jackson’s sister. I don’t want her anyway. She is just a little spoiled rich brat with a fat ass.” I wasn’t that convincing to Milo. I wouldn’t get crazy on any little high schooler tonight, I thought to myself. I needed to get a handle on this lust that was getting out of control. We used Milo’s room and made the call to Duke, while down the hall the spoiled brat was chatting ranting away to her new sister and probably about that boyfriend of hers. I didn’t know who he was, but I hated him already.

  Zoey

  Seeing his brother pass him a condom for tonight was giving me a pain in my belly, and it was making me angry. I walked into the bedroom where Elizabeth was waiting for me.

  “Seriously he is such an overgrown ass. He thinks he can just get laid with anyone and I can’t. He acts like his is my keeper instead of my brother’s help.” I said, as I squeezed my hands around the water, hearing the plastic crush as though it was Mike’s neck.

  “He is not that bad.” She was sympathetic to him. I might not get along with her after all.

  “He thinks because he is super attractive and that all women want him. He is planning to hook up with someone tonight, do you know that?” I couldn’t fight the anger, and a new emotion that I’m not sure I can cope with, jealousy. I shouldn’t be jealous over some guy’s need to be with someone else, when I planned to be with Rick. I told her what had happened, and she just laughed it off.

  “Come on really, guys say stupid stuff like that all the time that doesn’t mean they are going to do it. Look at you, you told him that you wanted to hook up with someone tonight, but you weren’t serious.”

  “Who says I wasn’t serious? I’m totally serious about Rick. He is handsome and I have seen him at practice, his body is hot.”

  “Are you still a virgin?” Elizabeth asked like she was a damn professional. What the hell we are the same age.

  “Yeah, why are you asking?” I tried to sound unaffected by her question.

  “Because I was curious. You and this Rick aren’t a couple yet, right?” I shook my head. I didn’t really know him that well, but do you really know anybody? We liked each other.

  “So then you plan to give a random guy your v-card because you feel like it? It’s a once in a lifetime event.” She didn’t have to be all condescending about it. I was starting to get defensive.

  “Don’t be all serious! Did you save it for my brother or did you give it to another guy?” Tit for tat, let’s see if she likes that.

  “I had a boyfriend when I met Jackson and I chose not to sleep with him. I’m not saying to wait for the guy you are going to marry, but at least to someone who means something to you.”

  “I’ll think about it, but Rick has been spending time with me a lot lately, and I like him.” I sounded immature again and I hated. I wasn’t even sure I was willing to go that far with Rick, but with Mike trying to hook up with someone I may consider it. I don’t know why he is having this effect on me; I am normally levelheaded.

  “I’m sure tons of guys flirt with you and want to get to know you. Rick can’t be the first.”

  “No he isn’t, but he’s different. He has nothing to gain from being with me. He is wealthy, captain of the baseball team and was dating the head cheerleader. All the other guys I dated were all trying to get in with Jackson or my dad.” I resented being privileged at times like those. People think because you are wealthy that you don’t have problems. You do though, they just happen to be different problems.

  “Well, I understand that for sure, but you need to know that they are young dummies. I love that Jackson is older, granted I’m not at all thrilled with his past experiences, but I think it made him who he is today.” I had enough with the invasion of privacy. We had a party to get ready for, and Elizabeth was on the same page.

  “Well don’t we have to try on some dresses? I brought the ones I bought with Jackson today.” We opened each of the garment bags, and I felt none of them would do. They didn’t match my gown at all, and they were too tame. I wanted to look and feel sexy. I thought my new sister needed to match in sexiness. Plus, I was angry with Jackson for bringing his gorillas.

  “None of these are going to work. Don’t get me wrong they are pretty, but Jackson must have been there when you selected them. They aren’t too sexy. I want sexy tonight, and we have to match. I never had a sister before. I have the perfect dress for you.” We had different hair color, but we both had the same hourglass shape and about the same size.

  When we were finally dressed and ready to go, we were both looking smoking hot. Elizabeth had a short blue dress that was tight and was sure to give my brother a mild stroke, but she would make it up to him. My dress was a short tight, one shoulder black dress paired with pink stilettos that laced half way up my calf.

  We made our way down just as the guests were arriving, and we headed to the drink table. I didn’t have to wait long for the shit fit to start as Jackson made his way towards us.

  Chapter 3

  Mike

  Our job tonight was to mingle with the guests and just pretend to be invited as guests of Jackson’s. We got dressed, and all I could think about was I hope to hell she isn’t wearing anything too provocative, a man could only take so much. My hopes were dashed when I had seen
her walk down the stairs with a sexy Elizabeth. I knew this spelled trouble already. Jackson is a little crazy about his girl. He is going to flip his lid when he sees her in her tight ass half dress.

  I tried to watch the action unfold to prevent a scene, but all I could to was stare at little Zoey Blake dressed like a sexy vamp, ready for a fuck. I needed to rein this shit in. She is just another girl I want to fuck. I have been down that road before. There were lots of women I wanted to fuck and many that I did. I have walked away from women before, she was no different. Hell she wasn’t really a woman yet. She was still a teenager for heaven sakes, with a whole future ahead of her. I ignored her and her slutty heels that would look great wrapped around my head and returned to the couple. Thankfully everything was cool until she dragged Elizabeth away and introduced her to some guy. I could see the way he was eyeing both girls and I turned to see both Mr. Blake and Jackson making their way over there. I walked nearer to them and stopped to talk to a blonde who was flirting outrageously. I carried on a conversation about what I don’t remember as I watched the scene play out in front of me. I excused myself as I tried to control the tide of anger building in me when she left the room with this guy, who I’m assuming is the boy she was talking about earlier.

  I followed behind them after grabbing a glass of wine off the server’s tray, guzzling it, and handing it back. My brother walked up to me and tried to stop me. “Bro let her go. There are other women.”

  “Save it bro, I’m not listening anyway. I won’t kill him if that is what you are concerned about.” I said, as I shrugged his hand off me.

  Zoey

  Jackson walked straight up to us. “What the fuck are you wearing?”

  I rolled her eyes at him. “Relax Jax she is just dressed to dance and have some fun. Don’t be such an old man.” I pulled Elizabeth away and walked up to our mom just as my dad made his way to Jackson.
